Hi, I'm Matt, and this was me about 5 years ago.
My weight was 400lbs and my doctor told me I would not live see my 30's if I didn't do something about my weight.
I was scared, depressed and I had no idea where what to do.
Im my family there is a history of obesity, diabetes and every possible bad gene you can think of.
The only solution that was on the table for me was bariatric surgery, so, knowing full well that I might not wake from the surgery, I decided to get a gastric bypass.
After months of recovery, I was finally started losing weight, I was feeling better than ever, I was finally able to do things I never thought I could do. I started jogging, lifting weights, hiking, things I never even condidered before. Life was incredible, until it wasn't.
One day I stopped losing weight, and after a few months I started gaining weight again, I was devastated, I called my doctor asking “What the hell is happening to me?“.
The doctor simply replied “The surgery helps in the beginning but you have to work with it to have lasting results, eat well and look after yourself“. And there it was, the moment I finally realized that there is no magic pill, magic injection or miracle surgery for lasting weight loss, they help but ultimately it was down to me.
I started walking more, eating better, reading everything I could about weight loss, purchased hundreds of “diets“, apps subscriptions, nutritionists, PT etc, and I finally was in the best shape of my life. I went from not being able to go up the stairs withouth huffing and puffing, to running a Half Marathon in just above 2 hours.
I did a rough calculation and I spent over $30,000 in the process of finally getting where I wanted to be.
So we finally reached the happy ending right? Well, no.
Turns out that everything I've been through was nothing compared to what 2023 had planned for me. At the beginning of 2023, I lost my job as a successful software engineer, and out of the blue, I got the terrible news. I could always count on being good at my job, grind my way to any solution and now that wasn't an option. That had a devastating impact on my confidence, I didn't leave the house for months and, as you guessed, I started putting on weight again.
I'm not going to lie, I was in a very dark place, and it took me months to get out of it. But as I stated to coming to terms with everything, something clicked in my brain about weightloss. Something that would enable me to quickly lose the weight I put on and keep it off no matter what life threw at me.
I realized that the key to losing weight and keeping it off for good is looking at weight loss as the sum of many small actions done on daily basis across 4 key pillars: activities, nutrition, sleep and psycology.
I always focused on one or two aspect, always assuming that there is one thing that will just make it all working, I did intermittent fasting for 6 months, which is great for nutrition, but I couldn't have dinner with my girlfriend because my eating window was closed, that made me miserable.
The key was to make small steps across the 4 pillars having small actions adding up to big results. A series of tools that I could use when I needed them, based on the situation.
Since then:
I had a serious family situation that made spend 3 montsh away from home.
I didn't put on weight.
I lost my grandmother and had to drive 3000km in 8 days to be with my family
I didn't put on weight.
One of the side effects of being obese most of my adult life, finally caught up with me, I had Plantar Fasciitis (inflamation of the bottom of the foot that makes it very painful to walk, let alone running) and could not walk for weeks
I didn't put on weight.
After all the time, effort and 100s of thousands of dollars spent on weight loss, I finally found a way to lose weight and keep it off so
I have decided to make it my mission to help people like me that struggle with weight loss and give them everything they need to finally achieve their goals.
This is exaclty what I'm offering you today, a personalized plan that covers the 4 key pillars and all the tools you can use to adapt the plan to your necessity.
Every single “diet“ I followed or app I used has a pre-defined plan that you have to follow:
Eat this or that, if you like it great, if you don't, well too bad.
They tell you something is making you fat:
Carbs are making you fat, fats are making you fat, the time of the day when you eat is making you fat
The reality is they they all work until something changes in your life, and then you are back to square one, you need a plan that meets you where you're at right now and adapts with you, not against you.
